And off we go...
Welcome to the new Bailey Films website (www.baileyfilms.com). Although we’ve been around for a little while we’ve recently had the website completely redone with a lot more functionality for both us and our clients. I’ll get in to the nitty-gritty of what’s changed and what’s the same in future blogs, but for now I’d just like to welcome everyone to the first official blog.
So why a blog, right? I mean it’s just some guy’s opinion. (In this case, it’s mine) So why should anyone care? Truthfully, it beats me. But it is the way that communications is moving. And everyone who teaches a business seminar or writes about client relations says you have to have one, even though many of them don’t have one themselves. Hmmm, it makes you think, doesn’t it?
And why would a video producer write a blog? Shouldn’t I be doing video blogs? Well, maybe, but the information I hope to cover in future posts is going to cover more than just video, or editing, or lighting. Since video and digital media tools are so important to business, especially small business, I’m also going to hit on topics like marketing, business practices and sometimes just some things that are fun. And rest assured, there will be video blogs from time to time.
Even though I have always worked in the technology sector, I’m a bit of a Luddite when it comes to social networking so bear with me while I get up to speed, if one can ever get up to speed with all the tools that are out there. As of last count I had accounts on My Space, Facebook, Linked-in, WAYN, Skype, Yahoo Messenger, Flikr, accounts on at least half a dozen message boards, and the one, two, or twelve others that I’m forgetting. Am I the only getting overwhelmed by all of this?
So in an effort to not just be the newest brand of flotsam bobbing in the sea of information, I will try and discuss things that I’ve found relevant to video production, the powerful effects of video for business, and lessons learned from trying to run a business. I would love to hear from people as we go along as to what you think is worthwhile and what was better left unsaid.
Thanks,
Reid

As part of the changes that are taking place here we wanted to point your attention to two things in particular.
One is our Video Intro packages. These packages are low cost, turn key solutions that allow businesses to take their first steps towards implementing video as part of their marketing arsenal. We've spent a lot of time talking with small business owners and have created these packages as an answer to many things that were keeping businesses from taking advantage of video, namely price and ease. You can view these packages on our Services page.

Bailey Films delivered compressed web video in Flash format quickly and with fantastic resolution. Before Bailey Films I thought all web video looked pixelated like YouTube but now I see, with a professional doing the work, the quality can be outstanding. My hat's off to Bailey Films. I plan on sending all my video needs straight to them from now on!
